What is a Canadian diamond?
A Canadian diamond is a diamond mined in Canada. It may be cut and polished in Canada or internationally. At Keir, every Canadian diamond we carry is laser engraved with a unique serial number for authentication and traceability.
Are Canadian diamonds ethical?
Yes. Canadian diamonds are among the most ethically sourced diamonds in the world. They are mined under strict federal and territorial regulations, meet Kimberley Process standards, and are tracked through controlled supply chains. We are proud members of the Canadian Diamond Code of Conduct.
How do I know my diamond is Canadian?
Look for the laser inscription on the girdle of the stone. That serial number matches its documentation, so its Canadian origin can be verified. We are happy to show you under magnification when you visit.
What about your non-Canadian diamonds?
All non-Canadian diamonds offered at Keir Fine Jewellery come from legitimate suppliers who comply with United Nations resolutions and provide written guarantees that their diamonds are conflict free.
