Based on the ancient jewellery-making tradition of mosaics, which was perfected by Florentine craftsman during the Renaissance, this finely executed inlaid jewellery resembles the stained glass windows of European cathedrals.

Unlike enamel, which is applied on top of the metal, inlaid jewellery involves hand-setting small pieces of semi-precious stones to create an intricate, predetermined mosaic pattern.

Each piece of Asch Grossbardt's inlaid jewellery is a study in superb craftsmanship. Once every stone is set, the piece is lapped on a wheel until it is so smooth that it is impossible to tell where one stone ends and the other begins.
