It's here, the Summer Wedding Season! On Monday June 30th I was celebrating my best friends wedding at an amazing golf course location in the Vancouver area. It was a small intimate affair with stunning weather (it was touch and go over the weekend!) and the bride was gorgeous in an ivory lace gown. I worked with her then boyfriend, now husband to create the ring of her dreams - a cushion cut white diamond halo style ring with shoulder diamonds and matching band. I love the creation process, fine tuning the design, hand selecting the diamond and of course it was even more thrilling to be doing it for my best friend. We've know each other for over 25 years and I was honoured to be a part of their day.
What is your favourite part of a wedding? I obviously love the jewels but even more so I think it's the joy - the pure joy of the couple getting married but also the joy and happiness of everyone involved.
We've had some very exciting things happen in our little corner of Whistler. The Shannon & Sophie show shot an episode at our store this past winter and it finally aired, to view click the following link - http://www.wnetwork.com/shows/shannon-and-sophie/clips?v=AC80604B-E815-3559-35DD-430C1186A093 I think Lana did an amazing job!
We have so much fun in our little jewellery store here in Whistler, it doesn't even feel like work!
It's officially Spring today and for me that's very exciting (it's also the first day of our Spring Sale)
I'm loving the longer days, slightly warmer temperatures and the promise of summer - yet there's still lots of skiing to be had! It's quite a wonderland we live in, we can experience every season in one day with our weather patterns, we can start planning for what to do when we retire the winter sports for the season (I've just picked up my season's pass for golfing this summer) and we can take advantage of end of season sales!
Our entire store is on sale from 25-50% off, with some exclusive in store specials AND you can take advantage of the sale here on our website by using SPRING14 when you check out for 25% off your order.
The sale is on now through April 6th, 2014
We are so proud to carry this brand of watch - designed, assembled and serviced right down the road from us in Vancouver! They are just starting a series of product knowledge videos so I thought I would pass along some details.
Another year has come and gone as we wake up in 2014. A new year always feels like a fresh start, a chance to reset and refocus - well at least it does for me! It's a great time to take stock of the year that was and plan for the year that will be. Often it is seen as a time to reinvest in one's self - gym memberships increase, healthy eating becomes fodder for water cooler chats, vows to stop drinking (or drink less) are taken and other resolution's are made.
However, this year I made a resolution to not make any resolutions, let's be honest, I was tired of failing! Every year I'd make a decision to 'do more of this' and 'less of that' and every year by mid January (sometimes sooner and sometimes later) I had failed to live up to my resolutions. So in an effort to be more realistic I've decided to create a list of 'goals' vs. resolutions:
Work Hard but Play Harder
Be Nice - even when I don't want to, you never know it could make all the difference to someone
Take Care of Me - so that I can take care of others
Make Time for What's Important - Family, Friends, Spa Days, Yoga, Reading....
Worry Less, Enjoy More
Tell me your thoughts, have you made resolutions? Set goals? What would you add to this list?
From all of us at Keir, we wish you the very best in 2014!
